About The department
The Department of Political Science at Awadhesh Prasad Mahavidyalaya is dedicated to the study of political systems, governance, public policies, and international relations. It aims to develop analytical, critical, and research skills among students, preparing them to become informed citizens and responsible leaders.
The department offers undergraduate courses in Political Science as part of the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) programme, available as a core or elective subject. Teaching is carried out through lectures, group discussions, seminars, and assignments. Students are encouraged to participate in debates, quiz competitions, and project work on current political issues.Students of Political Science can pursue careers in civil services, journalism, law, research, teaching, NGOs, and political analysis.

Department Rules
- Students must attend at least 75% of classes to be eligible for appearing in examinations.
- Carry college ID cards at all times.
- Students must reach the classroom on time.
- Mobile phones must be switched off or kept in silent mode inside the classroom.
- Students are encouraged to participate in departmental seminars, debates, and group discussions.
- Any form of malpractice will result in disciplinary action.
- Students must wear decent and formal attire during classes and departmental events.
