About The department
The Department of Ancient Indian and Asian Studies at Awadhesh Prasad Mahavidyalaya is dedicated to the comprehensive study of the rich cultural, historical, and intellectual heritage of India and Asia. The department explores the evolution of civilizations, archaeology, epigraphy, numismatics, philosophy, art, literature, and religion of the ancient world, with a focus on interdisciplinary research and contextual understanding.

Department Rules
- Respect for teachers, peers, and the sanctity of learning is expected at all times.
- Students must maintain at least 75% attendance to be eligible for semester examinations.
- Students must complete assignments, translations, and project work on time.
- All internal tests, quizzes, and practicals (where applicable) are compulsory.
- Participation in Sanskrit seminars, workshops, literary meets, and cultural programs organized by the department is encouraged.
- Books and reference materials must be used with care and returned on time
