About The department
The Department of Sociology focuses on the study of society, culture, and social institutions, helping students understand social structure, change, and contemporary issues. It covers key areas, including Indian society, gender relations, rural–urban dynamics, and social problems. The department uses lectures, discussions, and projects to encourage critical thinking and social awareness. Department Rules
- Students must maintain at least 75% attendance in lectures, tutorials, and departmental activities.
- Late entry or early exit from class without permission is discouraged
- Students must take part in class seminars, debates, and project discussions
- Students must follow ethical guidelines while collecting and handling research data
- Attendance in all internal assessments, tests, and practical work is mandatory
- Any malpractice during exams will lead to disciplinary action.
- Books and departmental resources must be handled carefully and returned on time.
