About The department
Established with the aim of promoting excellence in plant sciences, the Department of Botany at Awadhesh Prasad Mahavidyalaya is committed to imparting quality education and fostering scientific temperament among students. The department provides a strong foundation in the diverse fields of botany, covering key areas such as plant anatomy, morphology, physiology, taxonomy, embryology, genetics, biotechnology, and ecology.
The curriculum is designed to offer both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enabling students to understand the vital role plants play in sustaining life on Earth. Special focus is given to the ecological and environmental significance of plants, biodiversity conservation, and the sustainable use of natural resources. - Minimum 75% Attendance Students must maintain at least 75% attendance in theory and practical classes to be eligible for examinations.
- Laboratory Discipline – Lab coats are mandatory during practical sessions; students must handle specimens, microscopes, and chemicals with care.
- Field Work Participation – Participation in botanical excursions and field studies is compulsory as part of the curriculum.
- Timely Submission of Work – Practical records, assignments, and project reports must be submitted on or before the due date.
- Respectful Conduct – Students must maintain discipline and show respectful behavior toward faculty, staff, and fellow students.
- Cleanliness and Care of Departmental Property – Students are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in labs and classrooms and must not damage plants, specimens, or equipment.
